A. 33 years’ requirement for earning full pension waived for post-Jan 06 / pre-Sept 08 civil retirees too B. Retd Offrs reqd for Commonwealth Games

The requirement for 33 years of service for earning full pension has now been dispensed with for Post-Jan 06 and Pre-Sept 08 central govt civil pensioners too. Now all those who retired after 01-01-2006 with 20 years of service would be entitled to full pension. Also the govt has ordained that no recoveries would be made on account of the revised dispensation which may now result in a lower amount of gratuity than the one already paid (by including weightage which is not applicable now).

Secondly, the Commonwealth Games organising committee has shown interest in employing retired officers for the games. Retired Colonels would be appointed as Directors @ Rs 60,000 per month, Majors and Lt Cols can join as Project Officers @ Rs 45,000 per month and Capts can join as Asst Project Officers @ Rs 35,000 per month. The vacancies are limited and would be screened by a board. Those interested may contact Major Rao, the Chairman-cum-MD of Skylark Group, on his personal number 9811441189 or on 0124-4557000. Please do not mark your queries on this to me or to my personal email ID. Thanks.

This Commonwealth Games employment opportunity is very good and we should have more like these coming our way.

But I would like to strike a note of caution for all those officers who join - please set your ego's aside and then work for the common good. Most guys get side tracked into trying to direct matters in a way THEY think fit rather than trying to implement what has been decided at a higher level. And when things do not work out - they leave in a huff, earning themselves and the organisation a bad name. Believe me, this happens so frequently that you are left imagining what image the guys in the civvy street might carry about us - the typical caricature of a buffoon with handlebar moustaches and a rather myopic vision.

And please no quotes like "In the Army we would do it like this...."

Office Hospitality grant for Deputy Director General to Deputy Director allowed for Rs 800 Per Month.

But the process of claiming is too tedious...

LOOK AT THE CAREFULLY WORDED TEXT. IT SAYS 'PRE' 2008 FOR CIVILIANS WHICH MEANS THAT EVEN 1947 IS PRE 2008 SO ALL CIVILIAN 'PRE' 2008 RETIRES WILL NOW ENJOY THE BENEFIT OF 50% PENSION.
BUT FOR THE ,MILITARY IT IS 'POST 2006'. i.e. '2005' IS NOT 'POST' SO THEY DON'T GET IT.
I WONDER WHY SERVICE HQs ACCEPTS THIS. NAIVETY OR COULDN'T CARE LESS?

Your observation is totally INCORRECT.

The stipulation is only applicable for post-1-1-06 and pre-2-9-08 civil retirees and a bare perusal of the letter would show that.

Dear Navdeep

As per the clause mentioned in the letter, no recovery was to made in gratuity, however, the same has been recovered in my case. May I know what exactly it means ?

Lt Col R S Malik said...

PCDA is making Gratuity recoveries, despite this letter.

The Corregendums have been issued stating this.

Hundreds of Officers are affected.

Navdeep, Can something be done?
