LTC Journey on own car and hired taxi permitted in cases of disability / handicap

Thanks also to Mr BP Singh for sending this in.

The Govt of India has relaxed rules on the subject. While earlier, LTC journeys were only permitted on Govt run transport, central govt servants shall now be able to use their own car or a hired taxi in case of physical handicap or disability of self or any of the dependants.

Does this order is applicable to those disabled officers also who wishes to go on a LTC along with his family.
To put it simply, if a person who happens to be a disable (what % ?) wishes to go on a LTC along with his family who is not disable, in his own car, does this order is appicable to him also, while making the claim?

Why not to everybody whether abled or disabled ? It seems illogical for not alllowing the Govt servant to travel by own car while availing LTC. In the current scenario most of the Govt servants own car and would like to travel by it if other meanss of conveyance does not suit. There is a need to rethink on the issue as the Govt servant in any case would be claiming authorised cost i.e. the authorised category of conveyance, lest audit authority lambast him for claiming more.

AUTHORITY FOR TELEPHONE

CDA Meerut has asked the station to provide an authority that the Telephone authorisation to entitled government employees is also extended to Army officers.

Secondly to prove that Lt Cols are entitled for Rs 1500 which as per the govt letter, Deputy Secy to GOI is auth.

Can anyone help!

@Important

Tell the CDA guys to check from Delhi. Offrs posted at Army HQrs have been claiming and receiving this amount since times immemorial. If the CDA does not budge, then please file an application in the AFT of the competent jurisdiction.

What can we do about CDA. They use their own perception but are never punished for the wrongdoing. And Its such a hilarious situation that they get rewarded for saving government money. No-one even cares to examine if the savings are due to their reluctance to follow govt orders. Its the Armed forces only where the reason for not knowing an order does not hold good. These CDA babus should be held responsible for not passing a rightful claim by deducting interest from the day they deny the claim from their salary. You will be surprised Lotta babus will go home empty each month.

Thanks Navdeep!
I always suspected, ever since the 6CPC, that this will be the only way in future to earn our dues. Just like the IDSE lot which runs to CAT for everything.

I'm sure a Station cannot go to AFT, so each one is on his own.

But again- why should the organisation be involved for securing dues which accrue to you as an individual employee.

If my father's memory serves him right, this facility was available till some years ago(by way of claiming the cost of warrant.
What a load of rubbish...Typical IAS stuff. An officer/JCO/OR wants to travel on leave? Give him/her the authority to travel by Concorde(late and very much lamented..)BUT reimbursement will be by authorised classes of rail fare. So, I want to go to KK in my own car? Fine. Two way trip? Fine. So either one free return wt or two Form D's expended. Certificate from latest IO and reimbursement of authorised class of rail fare. Simple? Yes. Executable? Yes, BUT for our national psyche of a constipated view of life which threads its way thru' the govt's asinine rules - "You can't do this because I know you will misuse the provision" instead of "I am giving you this facility. Misuse it and your family jewels will adorn my breakfast menu, so what if the instant jewels come from a 1, 2 3 or 4 star guy." We will always stay the way we are, crabs in a bucket...

"Payment of Road Tax" The vehicle has been registered in one state and life time road tax has been paid. Do the defence personnel need to pay road tax in the other state in case they are transfered to another state.
