"One Rank One Pension" tables issued today (Download here)

OROP tables have been issued today for all ranks.

Total envisaged financial implication at current rates: Rs 7500 cr

Total implication on arrears from July 2014 till December 2015: Rs 10,900 cr

Thanks

Post Script Note: On careful perusal of the tables, it is observed that some of them are terribly off the mark and are riddled with wrong calculations, especially for the disabled and the war disabled. Will convey the issues to the Government and all stakeholders after a more concentrated scan.

I am not able to understand the disability element part, previously it was flat 30% of pay for 100% disability but now they have reduced it. If i am not wrong.

Those officers who got substantive ranks at 13 years of service are not compensated at all, but the Lt Col are given their due. Is there any remedial measure?

WHAT BENEFIT TO A MAJOR WITH 22.8 YEARS SERVICE . THERE ARE PRECEDENTS IN MAJOR THOMAS CASE AND CIRCULAR 14 IN ITSELF.instead of 32 k as proposed we get 23 k
THIS IS NOT OROP wherein inherent discrimination for length of service is prevelant
TO add insult it is in 4 instalments ie END 2017 .. PRAY A 79 year old will b alive to reap benefit

Navdeep as per the Pension Regulations 2008, vol-1, para 100(a), qualifying service for war disabled invalided out person is counted upto the deemed date of retirement in that rank and not actual qualifying service. how can the OROP table negate that regulation, what is the remedy for such placed persons.

Rajesh.

Sir, the issue of OROP not being applicable for PMR or volunteer retirement has not been removed but has been reiterated in para 1 of notification on orop tables.

sir,
prior to orop subedar's with 28 years of service used to get maximum pension, now it is 30 years of service to earn maximum pension, this this change and subedar's of y group with no of years of service 28 and more are getting lesser pension in orop

There is a glaring disparity in the OROP table published by the Govt.Majors with more than 13 years service to 20 years service are not given any increase irrespective of the additional number of service they put in above 13 years. They have uniformly given a rate of Rs 21530/-per month irrespective of the number of years of service, thereby defeating the cardinal principle of OROP(person with same Rank with same length of service should be paid same pension)This anomaly need to be addressed immediately.

It is quite likely that wrong implementation tables for OROP have been issued deliberately, so that people will protest and Government will ask for more time to correct them.

A small post script gives greater hope than all govt (nee bureaucracy) promises.

Dear Navdeep,

The disability pension of Majors is not increased in the same proportion as the basic pay. For example my earlier basic pension was 15999 which is now increased to 22830 but the disability pension which by the same ratio should have been increased from 10923 to 15587 has only been increased to 13698. There seems to be an error and I thought I bring it to your kind notice because I suppose you will be pointing out the errors to the people concerned.

Thanking you in advance.

You are doing a great service to the veterans. May God bless you.

Major Ajit Rathi

Dear Major Navdeep,

Thank you very much for posting all tables. I have gone through table No. 1 and 5. It is quite strange that a regular commissioned officer in the rank of Major with 22 years to 33 years q.s. will get pension @ Rs 23815 whereas an EC/SSC officer with 14 to 33 years q.s. will get Rs 26385?

May I request you to clarify.

With warm regards,

Major M R Penghal

As per Para 11 of PCDA Allahabad Circular No 555 all Majors who retired on or after 01 Jan 1992 with 21 yrs of service will get the pension of Lt Cols. Can anyone please clarify why Majors who retired pre 01 Jan 1996 are not included.

Maj Navdeep, Pl refer orop table, 19 yr Hav of x group drawing more pension than Naib sub of 22 yr of y group. Can we challenge in court as it is the matter of status.

Dear Sir,

Some comments should have been on Sep, NK & Hav scale, given in Table -7.

1. For Nk Pension from 15 years to 28 years service,
2. Group-X gets Rs 1400/ more than Group-Y where as in pension difference is more than 1200 in some cases.
Kindly coment

Sorry Maj Navdeep about my wrong observation on the disability pension increase. The figure of Rs. 13698 in OROP Table 70 is correct for a Major of 21 years. Sorry sir for wrong input. Please forgive me. Thanks. Major Ajit Singh Rathi
